Captain's Log:

I've been horrendously busy with university, but have managed to cobble together a semi-respectable website! Hooray! The hardest bits were learning how to take example code and change the classes and id's to something I can navigate. Learning HTML and CSS wasn't all that hard thanks to the awesome resources and videos floating around here, particular shoutout to W3schools which saved my ass countless times. Otherwise, uni is going well! Sucessfully IV'd a couple people but I 100% need wayyy more practise.

Decided to read Call of The Wild and White Fang back to back and I forgot how much I love both stories, they work better read one after another since they're pretty much parallels. I really love reading xenofiction and these books are such a classic example of it. It reminds me a lot of how when I was younger (and still a little today) I'd play at being an animal and felt more friendship for animals that I did my peers. Caveat of growing up autistic I guess! I read COTW often as a kid so it was pretty nostalgic to get back to it, I do have a bunch of other xenoficiton on my to-read list but uni has stopped me from really sinking my teeth into the genre. If you're ever curious as to what I've been reading I've linked my storygraph in the 'Links' section so go have a look! :)

Feeling very exhausted. Just finished uop a big week with 6 or 7 assingments to hand in for uni so my brain is mush. However! I did buy a PC today! With the help of one of my friends who has way more knowledge on tech than I do so that's very exciting! Cost around 2k NZD but I've been saving up for a while :) Have some other exams coming up aswell so my life shall be flashcards and little else. Made time to do some painting, in acrylics I painted a coral reef :P

Finally survived my mid-sem exams. The big ones actually took place during the mid-sem break so no one in my cohort actually got one. Have a few days off before doing the 2nd half of the sem's assignments but very glad to have the big stress done. The hardest exam was no doubt cardiology, SO MUCH to remember but I think I did pretty okay :P I put on some fake nails from K-Mart and they do make me feel very fancy and genderqueer but good god I forgot how hard it is to do literally anything in them. I was sewing closed a small hole in one of my hoodies and it felt like I was doing some humilation ritual involving threading needles. So kudos to the lovely people who can regularly pull this off but it ain't me! Looking forward to getting some good sleep in now :)

My brain is a machine that really does not like to do anything with any consistency, however I am more stubborn that it is. So. To catch you up, I've got one more exam before I'm done for the year which is fantastic. This degree is awful on the nerves but I still love it so fucking much. Hopefully over summer as I attempt to work and be the middle man between my employer and my student loan, I'll do some more coding for this website. I still don't have a strong vision for what I want necessarily but. I'm sure I can work it out. I also recently have started collecting Littlest Pet Shops when I was younger I had a few and thoroughly enjoyed making stories and silliness with them but never had the money to collect and this was after the 'classic' gen 2 LPS had been discontinued and the far uglier newer gens were out. With the introduction of gen 7 which uses the more classic style I'm spending far more than I should. It is so much fun to blend my passion for creation of miniatures like sets, clothing, foods, accessories, furniture, etc. It is nice to have something that is a complete outlet for my childish wants. Since most of the time I'm using so much brain power to do the 'correct' thing, letting go and just having fun with no observation is very nice. Plus having supportive flatmates who don't mind that I've taken over the spare room for my sets. :) When I go home later in Dec I'll bring back my old LPS and hopefully some of my books that are still stranded an island away. Anyway, that's about all for this log. :)
